Two very similar sized teams from the same neighborhood duke it out for bragging rights. St. John Fisher jumps out to an early lead and keep the lead despite St. Clare’s attempts to narrow the gap. Thanks to SJF #45 slight height advantage and agility, SJF wins the rights this year.
800 volunteer coaches are making a difference to the CYO Basketball program! One outstanding coach is Laurie Merlino who coached two teams in the City Championship this weekend. Laurie was a standout at the University of Washington and currently coaches CYO at the Madeleine! Thanks Laurie!
Basketball Commission Members provide a variety of services to CYO. They attend championship games, track playing time, go to games where a CYO presence may be needed and really help the program out where controversy may be a factor. We are indebted to all of the members for their dedication and help. We are always looking for members of our CYO Commissions. Call the CYO Office at 503-231-9484 and let us know if you are interested in helping.

A high scoring game for fourth graders. Two very highly aggressive teams both well coached and well disciplined. Incredibly fun game to watch. Christ the King pulled out to a 16 point lead in the fourth quarter with patience and obvious well drilled plays that made the difference in this contest.
We have been working very hard on not only a new website but also a new registration system for CYO/Camp Howard. As we try to get all the bugs worked out I know it can be a little frustrating but hang in there folks, it is going to be a great system when we get through the newness of it. Special thanks to all who have been working hard to get things in place.
Isn’t it a blessing when you truly have a day off? I went over and picked up my Mom and we went for a drive. We went to Camp Howard to visit Karen and see what was happening at the camp. She went with us on a tour around the camp and showed us what was happening. The pictures tell the story!

Karen von Borstel Talking about her plans for what is happening in Champions Hall and around the camp.

One of Valley Catholic’s third grade volleyball teams went undefeated all season and got beat in the first round of the GREAT 8 bracket by Holy Trinity. The second Valley Catholic team had a couple of defeats during the season but in the GREAT 8 bracket they won their first game and worked their way to the Spike Championship. Holy Trinity won the first game, Valley Catholic the second and Valley Catholic the third!!!! GREAT game by all of the third grade teams.
