New Open House Opportunities at Camp Howard!

Three Opportunities to Hear About Camp Howard BEFORE Camp this year!!!

Your first opportunity is the…

In-Town Camp Sampler at Holy Trinity Parish, Sunday, April 29th from 3 to 5pm. This event is brought to you by popular demand. We heard from our community that parents and prospective campers would like the opportunity to ask questions and get information sooner so they can start scheduling summer activities. It also offers an opportunity for groups of friends to schedule their Camp Howard weeks together.  Special thanks to Holy Trinity for hosting this opportunity!

Christ Child BXB Courts at Camp Howard

The Christ Child Society of Portland made money available for Camp Howard to build basketball courts in 2010 with a little left over to go toward the cover which was installed in 2015.  The three full sized basketball courts have been a game changer at the camp on rainy days and sunny days alike as the cover provides refuge from the rains and the sun.

When the busses for the summer programs arrive at the camp they unload campers under the Christ Child courts.  The facility provides wonderful options for the camp from organization of people, sorting luggage on a rainy day, to all kinds of activities during the week rain or shine.  Last year, arts and crafts took place on the other side of the blue curtains pictured below.  #sistersblogs #cyocamphoward

Camp Howard Closed for Two Weeks of Maintenance Projects

Camp is over and a few staff have remained on site to help with planned maintenance projects.  Last summer we stained and trimmed Gimpl Dining Hall and two of the staff cabins.  The results were stunning!  This year we are staining and trimming the third staff cabin, main shower house, camp store, Greenwood Unit and if time permits, Fircrest Unit.  If all goes well, 16 buildings will be stained and trimmed!
