The Thompson boys have not made it easy for any of the distance runners in the CYO Meet of Champions to cruise to easy victories. Daniel Thompson and Zach Lavier stayed on the heels of Logan Phillips in the Cadet Boys 1500 Meter Run coming in second to Phillips by a second. It was an outstanding race to watch with no way of telling who would be the victor in the end.

The 1500 Meter Run was an exceptional race at the CYO Meet of Champions with a duel between Ella Donaghu from the Madeleine and defending champion, Nicole Griffiths from St. Pius X. The girls traded places through out the race and were never more than 5 to 10 paces behind one another. It was soon obvious the race would become a CYO moment to remember! In the final stretch of the race, Ella Donaghu took the lead and crossed the finish line almost three seconds off the event record and a second quicker than Griffiths. Definitely a race that will be talked about and remembered for a long time.
Champion: Ella Donaghu from the Madeleine
Second: Nicole Griffiths from St. Pius X
Third: Rennie Kendrick from the Madeleine
